OBAMA & PUTIN

"It is not possible for Mr. Assad to regain legitimacy in a country where he's killed tens of thousands of his own people," Obama said. "So far, at least, Mr. Putin has rejected that logic."

Obama added: "I'm always hopeful, and I will continue to engage him."

Obama's challenge to change Putin's mind comes as China warns that any military action against Syria will push up oil prices and hurt the world economy.

Speaking in St. Petersburg Thursday, Chinese Vice Finance Minister Zhu Guangyao said that "Military action would have a negative impact on the global economy, especially on the oil price -- it will cause a hike in the oil price," before citing estimates that a $10 rise in oil prices could push down global growth by 0.25 percent. Guangyao also urged a U.N.-negotiated solution to the chemical weapons standoff. Like Russia, China is a major arms supplier to Syria and holds veto power over any Security Council resolution.

Putin said in a published interview this week that he'd reconsider the status of a suspended S-300 missile defense contract.

"We have a contract for the delivery of the S-300s. We have supplied some of the components, but the delivery hasn't been completed," he said. "We have suspended it for now. But if we see that steps are taken that violate the existing international norms, we shall think how we should act in the future, in particular regarding supplies of such sensitive weapons to certain regions of the world."

The possibility for Russia stepping up its role in the region makes Obama's visit to Russia all the more critical.

Putin has been among the loudest critics on the international stage of Obama's push for a military strike in Syria. He reportedly blasted the push on Wednesday as an "act of aggression." He has said in recent interviews that a strike would be illegal if the United Nations does not support it.

No matter how one looks at the situation one must also take into account America's changing role in the International arena. Americans are weary of the fires no one wants to put out but the US. The "overzealous" USA, as it is seen by the world, weighs all options now on the table. Policing the world and playing a peacemaker must involve actions but also provokes consequences.

The British Parliament have decided to abstain. Russia and China have no moral bones left; gas or no gas. The *axes of evil have united themselves against the great striker and punisher of evil.

The Geneva Protocol was signed at Geneva on 17 June 1925 and entered into force on 8 February 1928. It was registered in League of Nations Treaty Series on 7 September 1929.

Russia signed the Geneva Protocol in April 5, 1928; Syria signed it on December 17, 1968; China signed in July 13, 1952 and USA in April 10, 1975. It prohibits the use of "asphyxiating, poisonous or other gases, and of all analogous liquids, materials or devices" and "bacteriological methods of warfare". This is now understood to be a general prohibition on chemical weapons and biological weapons, but has nothing to say about production, storage or transfer.

The United Nations remains quiet. Russia and China are the major arms suppliers to Syria and hold veto power over any Security Council resolution.

In China's words: 'any military action against Syria will push up oil prices and hurt the world economy' the world's concerns are only economical. Religion is fizzing out. The pope's morality speeches fall on deaf ears.

[Isaiah 30:10-14] Who say to the seers, “You must not see visions”; and to the prophets, “You must not prophesy to us what is right, speak to us pleasant words, prophesy illusions. Get out of the way, turn aside from the path, Let us hear no more about the Holy One of Israel.” Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel, Since you have rejected this word and have put your trust in oppression and guile, and have relied on them, therefore this iniquity will be to you like a breach about to fall, a bulge in a high wall, whose collapse comes suddenly in an instant, whose collapse is like the smashing of a potter’s jar, so ruthlessly shattered that a sherd will not be found among its pieces to take fire from a hearth or to scoop water from a cistern.

We are approaching the actual fulfillment of the above words. Human nature has not changed for it carries suicidal tendencies. Therefore; all threats and strong words pronounced against the Syrian regime will evaporate like steam. Silence will fall in greater frequency when faced with issues of morality and any possible actions against evil. When faced with straight talk, righteousness and complete honesty people will be dumbfounded wondering as to, "How can anyone still talk so straightforwardly?" People will be puzzled that there are still beautiful flowers left in the garden of weeds. Cowardice not diplomacy is the prevailing factor today. Fear is the cuddled sentiment. Saying nothing, doing nothing, or better yet, let someone else stand up for any acts of evil so that we can point a finger and say, "He did it."

Many remain pensive when hearing my messages and reading my blogs for they no longer can afford to stand up and be counted; they'd rather let others do it for them (fools like me). Many are amazed that there are still some zaddiks left in this world.

The righteous seems to lose steam while the *Axes of Evil protect but only evil and evildoers.

* Axis of evil is a term initially used by the former United States President George W. Bush in his State of the Union Address on January 29, 2002, and often repeated throughout his presidency, describing governments that he accused of helping terrorism and seeking weapons of mass destruction. Iran, Iraq and North Korea were portrayed by George W. Bush during the State of the Union as building nuclear weapons. The Axis of Evil was used to pinpoint these common enemies of the United States and ally the country in support of the war on terror.

Putin said, "The attack was carried out by the rebels in order to provoke outside military intervention against Assad." So it means that the rebels possess chemical weapons and launchers. Does he know more? If they have their hands on gas then terrorists do also; and beside chemical and biological weapons (most likely Russian made) perhaps also nukes.

Strike on Syria would indeed ignite something worse. Assad said that 'any military strike against his country would spark an uncontrollable regional war and spread chaos and extremism.'

"The Middle East is a powder keg, and today the flame is coming very near. We cannot talk merely about the Syrian response, but about what might take place after the first strike. But nobody knows what will happen. Everyone will lose control of the situation when the powder keg explodes."
